Dedicated to fostering the art and craft of the jazz guitar

We are a group of guitar players (both accomplished and aspiring) and non-players, and a very sociable bunch, who share an enthusiasm for jazz music, particularly as played on the guitar. Whatever your skill level you will meet people with whom you share an interest and who are eager to play music.

At a typical club night there are informal sessions where people can play together or listen.  Many club members also meet at home in twos and threes to practise together and learn a repertoire. The first hour of most meetings is dedicated to beginners, who are given encouragement and help by more experienced club members.

Come along to a club night or two to see if it's right for you. Check the diary to see when the regular club nights are as those will give you the best feel for what we are about.

Your first two visits are free, thereafter annual subs are £40.

Do come along, we would love to see you.

The club organises a concert twice a year, one in the summer and one at Christmas and these give club members a chance to perform before a live audience.

Every three or four months we hold a guest night, at which a well known guitarist will come and play for us, tell anecdotes about his/her career, pass on tips and answer questions from club members. Guest nights are always very entertaining and we have been lucky enough to have some of the country's best guitarists visit us.

We also run occasional workshops which you can read about elsewhere on the website.
